Recently I’ve been feeling like I’m constantly at war with my own skin. And, I think in this post-holiday season a lot of people feel the same. January is the month where everyone’s indulgences from Christmas and the New Year seem to catch up with them, and often with your skin, the consequences of extravagant eating and drinking can take a while to make themselves known.
This month, I have also found that my once solely dry, sensitive skin has become increasingly prone to oiliness. Now, your skin type is not something that can intrinsically change forever, but often, many people do see certain aspects of their skin type intensified either during seasonal changes, or if your skin isn’t getting what it needs. Which is why I was so pleased when I started using the Re-Balancing Ultra Combo Cream, as it has really been catering to the current demands of my skin.
This cream is perfect for those with Oily, Combination and Mature skin types. It is the ideal cream for those who are afraid of over-moisturising and making their skin look greasy and tacky. Don’t worry, you won’t have any of those problems with this cream, as it helps to tighten and reduce the appearance of pores, giving the skin a more beautiful and radiant appearance, while also leaving the skin with a matte finish.
Watermelon Seed Oil: The Ultimate Skincare Multi-Tasker
One of the star ingredients of this cream is watermelon seed oil. Watermelon seed oil is such a great multi-tasking ingredient because it is lightweight, fast absorbing and deeply penetrating, and it is also dense with lots of different nutrients. This ingredient is great for sensitive and acne prone skin because of its high linoleic acid content. Linoleic acid is great for detoxifying and clarifying blocked pores by helping to dissolve dirt and remove impurities, which is why it is so perfect for those with oilier skin types. As well as this, watermelon seed oil has a high concentration of lots of different vitamins and minerals such as: Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Potassium and Vitamins E, A and B. Vitamin E in particular has renowned anti-inflammatory properties, thus helping to reduce any redness and inflammation that can occur alongside break-outs.
Safflower Seed Oil: Rich in Fatty Acids
We have included safflower seed oil within this formula as it works in perfect harmony with the other hand selected ingredients. Like watermelon seed oil, the principal fatty acid of this oil is Linoleic acid, which makes it great for treating acne prone skin. The reason we have concentrated so intensely on ingredients with high Linoleic Acid contents is because this is a fatty acid that is not naturally produced by the body. However, it is something that is absolutely essential to your skin’s health, as it is required for cell reproduction and growth and therefore the skin’s general maintenance.
Within this formula, we have also included Jojoba and Orange Blossom Oils, which only add to the luxurious feel of the cream. Although it may seem counter-intuitive to include so many oils in a cream for those with oily and combination skin types, contrary to popular belief, oils can actually help to treat oily skin, rather than exacerbate it.
Vegan Hyaluronic Acid: Intense Hydration at your Fingertips
Hyaluronic acid is well known within the beauty world for its incredible ability to lock in the skin’s moisture, providing it with intense hydration. This is because hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind up to 1000 times it’s own volume in water, which seems a little crazy but trust me, your skin will thank you. As well as helping the skin with moisture retention, hyaluronic acid assists with collagen synthesis, making it a great anti-ageing ingredient. Hyaluronic acid is a major component of the skin, helping to benefit tissue repair and protection. When applied to the skin in either cream or serum form, it is able to form an air permeable layer as it penetrates into the dermis. This not only boosts the elasticity and hydration of the skin, but it also helps to form a protective barrier to guard the skin against harmful factors in the environment, such as UV rays and pollutants. Working together in the form of this lovely balancing cream, all of these ingredients are able to help fight oily skin and breakouts, as well as giving the skin a youthful and radiant appearance.
Tips for Application
This cream is perfect to be used both morning and night, but personally, I love to use it in the morning right before I apply my makeup because of the way it gives the skin a matte appearance. Remember to make sure that your skin is fully cleansed before you apply this cream evenly across the face and neck.
A little goes a long way, only use enough moisturiser to cover the skin in a thin layer, if you use too much then it is likely that your pores will only end up clogged, and no one wants that!
